11 <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br /> Ms. Szakos said she has been approached by members of the community to <br />support a resolution regarding federal comprehensive immigration reform. She said <br />immigrants are an integral part of our community. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown asked about the rationale for adopting the resolution now. <br /> <br /> Ms. Szakos said there is legislation in the House now and it is supported by the <br />President. <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja said he thinks it is a good thing to support and a comprehensive <br />approach is crucial. <br /> <br /> Dr. Brown said he thinks it is a good idea, but he thinks the timing is premature. <br />He said he thinks it will contribute more to influencing legislation when it is in the news. <br /> <br /> Ms. Szakos said a statewide organization is promoting it and is encouraging that it <br />be done now. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said the current bill in the House is HR 4321. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Szakos, seconded by Mr. Huja, the Resolution Expressing <br />Support for Federal Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation or Administrative <br />Action was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Dr. Brown, Ms. Edwards, Mr. Huja, <br />Mr. Norris, Ms. Szakos. Noes: None. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Colette Hall, 101 Robertson Lane, asked that public input not be hurried <br />regarding the neighborhood advocate. She asked that the general public have input into <br />the City Manager hiring process. She said that if the SRO facility is built she hopes the <br />City will not be leasor and leasee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Peter Kleeman, 407 Hedge Street, said that there was a fair amount of <br />damage to pedestrian ways as a result of the snow storm as well as streets. <br /> <br /> Mr. O’Connell said staff will look at sidewalks when they survey streets. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />_____________________________ __________________________ <br />President Clerk <br /> <br />
