However, Ms. Slaughter added that she feels a separate charette
should be held regarding the City Market at an earlier date than the general dmvntown
charette.

Mr. Toscano asked staff to develop a time-line for a charette.
PUBLIC

Ms. Jane Erlich, Brandywine Drive, announced a "Parents for Peace" march and health
and creativity festival, to be held on the downtown mall June 1 st, with the goal being to bring
families together. Ms. Erlich asked the community to participate in a letter writing campaign
to recognize people who should be acknowledged for doing an excellent job of parenting

Mr. Michael Clark, a City Market vendor, said that the Market participants will be
requesting a work session with the Planning Commission to work on design elements of the
Market, and will be requesting the participation of the Thomas Jefferson Planning District
Commission as well. Mr. Clark said City Market vendors are interested in expanding the
Market to seven days a week.

The meeting w_as adjourned.
President

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, April 3,
1996 AT 3:30 p.m. IN THE Basement Conference Room.

THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS:
Budget Work Session
BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed)

BASEMENT CONFERENCE ROOM - April 3, 1996

Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Ms.
Daugher~y, Rev.
