<br /> Mr. William Johnson, Old Lynchburg Road, explained that he had been called by a
<br />retired teacher who was concerned because a local restaurant told her they would not deliver
<br />to her neighborhood because k is an African-.&mefican neighborhood. Mr. Johnson asked
<br />Council tO investigate the matter.
<br />
<br />Ms. Slaughter said the City will make inquiries into the matter.

<br /> WHEREAS, the Charlottesville/Albemarle Children & Youth (CACY) Commission,
<br />has been approved for additional funding from the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice in
<br />the amount of $4,226 for fiscal year 1996-97, resulting in a total budget appropriation of
<br />$104,849.00; now, therefore
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the
<br />budget appropriation for CACY is hereby increased by $4,226.00, conditioned upon receipt
<br />of $4,226 from the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice.

<br />c. APPROPRIATION: $11,000 - West Main Street Trolley (2nd reading)
<br />
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Cit-3, of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the
<br />sum of $11,000.00 is hereby appropriated to fund a pilot project of trolley bus service for
<br />two months between the University of Virginia and downtown Charlottesville. The cost of
<br />this service is to be equally shared by the City, the University of Virginia, and D & R
<br />Corporation, owners of the Regal Cinema on the downtown mall. This appropriation is
<br />conditioned upon receipt of $3,666.66 from the University of Virginia, and $3,666.66 from D
<br />& R Corporation, to be combined with the City's payment of $3,666.68 funded from the
<br />unappropriated balance of the General Fund, for a total appropriation of $11,000.
