APPROPRIATION: $40,000 - CHIP (amending HO1V~ funds) (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has previously approved the appropriation of certain sums of <br />federal grant receipts t° specific accounts in the Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) <br />Fund; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it now appears that portions of the amounts originally appropriated to the <br />Rental Rehab program can be more effectively utilized by the Charlottesville Housing <br />Improvement Program (CHIP) for the same purpose; now therefore <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLYqED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the <br />appropriations made to the following expenditure accounts are hereby reduced by the <br />respective amounts shown, along with the respective local match; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $40,000 of the funds revert back to the Thomas <br />Jefferson HOME Consortium to be used for CHDO activities to be carried out by CHIP with <br />the supervision of the City of Charlottesville. <br /> Proposed <br /> Revised Proposed <br />Account Name Account Code Reduction New Balance <br /> <br />HOME Rental Rehab 93-94 <br />HOME Rental Rehab 94-95 <br /> <br />11-042-062060 $21,000 0 <br />11-042-062074 I9,000 $17,000 <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />TOTAL $40,000 <br /> <br />e. RESOLUTION: Dogwood Festival - Use of McIntire Park and waiver of <br /> fees <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 46th annual Dogwood Festival will take place from April 1 t-23, t995; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it has been requested that Council waive certain license tax and other <br />requirements applicable to the Dogwood Festival, for the duration of the Festival; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council is willing to support this request to the extent set forth <br />below; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED that the following fees and requirements are waived for the <br />Dogwood Festival: <br /> <br /> 1. The carnival business license tax imposed by City Code Section 14-55(2) <br />($550/day). <br /> <br /> 2. The tent erection fee imposed by City Code Section 5-57 ($10). <br /> <br /> 3. The zoning inspection. <br /> <br /> 4. Fees for inspection of amusement fides associated with festival. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Council that the following matters, to the extent <br />applicable, are .not waived: <br /> <br /> 1. Peddler's license and fee imposed by City Code Section 14-49(d). <br /> <br /> 2. Policing deposit for carnival imposed by City Code Section 28-111, et seq., <br />provided, however, that vendors shall be allowed to operate until 11:00 p.m. for the duration <br />of the festival. <br /> <br /> <br />
