259 NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, October 19, 1995 AT 4:30 p.m. IN THE Second Floor Conference Room. THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: Executive session as provided by Section 2.1-344(a) of the Virginia Code BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) SECOND FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM - October 19, 1995 Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever. On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, Council voted to meet in executive session for the purpose of discussion of a personnel matter, as authorized by Section 2.1-344(A)(1) of the Virginia Code, with Mr. Vandever absent for the vote. Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, certified that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the executive meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and (ii) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, discussed or considered by the Council. Edwards On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, Council voted to meet in executive session for the purpose of discussion of a personnel matter, as authorized by Section 2.1-344(A)(1) of the Virginia Code, and for the purpose of consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff members, consultants or attorneys, pertaining to probable litigation, or other specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by counsel, as authorized by Section 2.1-344(A)(7) of the Virginia Code, with 5/Ir. Vandever absent for the vote and Rev. Edwards absent for the meeting.
