Edwards, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, <br />the resolution adopting the Thomas Jefferson Planning <br />District Commission Legislative Program was unanimously <br />approved by Council. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: <br /> <br />DONATION OF PROPERTY ON ROSE HILL DRIVE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Gouldman recommended that the ordinance be amended <br />to refine the conditions regarding Madison Avenue access and <br />vegetation on the boundary of the property. <br /> <br /> Mr. Satyendra Huja, Director of Community Development, <br />explained that a subdivision on the property adjacent to the <br />Red Cross property would require City approval of-streets, <br />but no approval would be necessary for a driveway. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Ms. Daugherty, <br />the ordinance was unanimously amended as recommended by Mr. <br />Gouldman. <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE <br />CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY LOCATED ON ROSE HILL DRIVE TO THE <br />AMERICAN RED CROSS," as amended, which was offered at the <br />December 6th meeting, was approVed by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Ms. Daugherty, Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Toscano, Mr. Vandever. Noes: None. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano acknowledged the retirement of Diane <br /> McCrystal from Adephia Cable, noting that Ms. McCrystal has <br /> worked behind the scenes filming Council meetings for viewing <br /> on cable television. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty announced that the Ridge Street bridge <br />would be open on December 23rd. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter expressed appreciation to retiring <br />Treasurer Gene Harding and other City retirees. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Rev. Edwards, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session for <br />the purpose of considering the acquisition or use of real <br />property for public purpose, or the disposition of publicly <br />held property, more specifically described as property <br />located near Free Bridge and for the purpose of consultation <br />with legal counsel concerning matters pertaining to actual or <br />probable litigation or other matters requiring legal advice, <br />as authorized by Section 2.1-344(a)(3) and (7) of the <br />Virginia Code. <br /> <br /> <br />
