278 <br /> <br /> 4~ The loan and line of credit loan are hereby designated as "qualified tax-exempt <br />obligations" for the purposes of Section 265 of the Internal Revenue Code. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTltER RESOLVED that the City Manager, or his express designee, <br />is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver any and all documents necessary <br />to close the above described loans, including but not limited to, notes, security <br />instruments, UCC financing statements, and corporate resolutions, in form approved by <br />the City Attomey. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $14,950 - PURCHASE OF FIRE TRUCKS <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, the $14,000 <br />appropriation for purchase of fire trucks was offered and carded over to the next meeting <br />for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter noted that in January' Council had passed a resolution directing the <br />Planning Commission to review the land use plan with regard to the zoning of Grove <br />Avenue which the Planning Commission has proposed be postponed. In light of that, Ms. <br />Slaughter said that she proposed that the Council hold a public hearing on June 6th for the <br />purpose of amending the land use plan for Grove Avenue from office to residential. <br /> <br />Ms. Daugherty and Mr. Vandever expressed agreement with Ms. Slaughter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Sue Lewis, Chair of the Planning Commission, stated that the Planning <br />Commission felt the issue has been specifically discussed recently and should be <br />considered along vfith the land use review in the fall Ms. Lewis noted that a survey of the <br />Grove Avenue neighborhood did not indicate that the matter was an overriding issue to <br />those people most affected by it. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter asked that the neighborhood associations be informed about the <br />upcoming public hearing. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano stated that a meeting of the alternative school funding committee will <br />be held on May 24th and recommended that a Council Member attend. Ms. Daugherty <br />stated that she would attend the meeting. <br /> <br /> Ms. Daugherty noted that the previous week had been declared as Police Memorial <br />Week. <br /> <br /> cT ~/~~ing was adjourned: <br />Presittent <br /> <br /> <br />
