Ayes: Ms. Slaughter, <br />Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: SOLID WASTE FEES <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that it was important for Council to <br />make a decision on the structure of the solid waste fees so <br />staff could fill in the figures for the first reading of the <br />ordinance at the next meeting. Mr. Hendrix added that the <br />figures may need to be changed in May or June based on the <br />tip fee. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters made a motion to maintain the current <br />property tax rate and to have a volume based fee on the <br />additional cost of solid waste. Ms. Slaughter seconded the <br />motion. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vandever stated that he continued to favor taking <br />the cost for solid waste out of the tax rate. <br /> <br /> Mr. Toscano stated that tip fees are likely to increase <br />and therefore the volume based fees will also rise <br />accordingly and noted that the high taxpayers in the City <br />would benefit by cutting the tax.rate.
