Pursuant to the limitations contained in Temporary <br />Income Tax Regulations Section 5f.103-2(f)(1), this <br />Resolution Shall remain in effect for a period of one year <br />from the date of its adoption. <br /> <br /> 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon <br />its adoption. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: STREET LISTING CHANGES <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the street listing changes had <br />been approved by the affected neighborhood associations. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, the <br />resolution approving street listing changes was unanimously <br />approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council for the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that certain streets, which have <br />commonly been referred to by two or more different street <br />names or designations, shall hereinafter be officially named <br />as follows: <br /> <br />OLD STREET NAME <br /> <br />"NEW" STREET NAME <br /> <br />Broadway Street/Carlton Avenue <br />Linden Street/Linden Avenue <br />Rives Street/Rives Avenue <br />Midland Street/Midland Avenue <br /> <br />CarltOn Avenue <br />Linde~n Avenue <br />Rives Street <br />Midland Street <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: APPROVAL OF GRANT APPLICATION TO VA. DEPT. OF FORESTRY <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the grant, if received, would be <br />used as matching funds to replant trees which have died along <br />Monticello Avenue. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Toscano, the <br />resolution approving the grant application to the Va. Dept. <br />of Forestry was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the City Manager is <br />authorized, for and on behalf of the City of Charlottesville, <br />to apply for a grant from the Virginia Department of Forestry <br />for the replanting of trees along Monticello Avenue. <br />Sufficient funds are available to meet the local matching <br />funds requirement ($5,349). <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE RE: <br />WAIVER/TREE REPLACEMENT POLICIES <br /> <br />TREE AND SIDEWALK <br /> <br /> Mr. Gouldman explained that the ordinance had been <br />drafted to allow the City Manager to make the decision in <br />emergency situations regarding tree removal on public <br />property and the sidewalk appeal would be made to the City <br />Council. Mr. Goutdman stated that research suggested that <br />the Council did not have the authority to have the sidewalk <br />appeal go to the Circuit Court. <br /> <br /> Ms. Slaughter made a motion to approve the ordinance and <br />Mr. Toscano seconded the motion. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that the ordinance would be amended to <br />clarify that the tree replacement referred only to public <br />property. <br /> <br /> The ordinance regarding tree and sidewalk waivers and <br />tree replacement policies was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CLOSING LEE AND JACKSON PARKS AT 11:00 P.M. <br />(2nd reading) <br /> <br /> <br />
