Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. <br />Toscano, Mr. Vandever. Absent: Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> Rev. Edwards thanked outgoing School Board member John <br />Pezzoli for his nine years of service. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Dunbar, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, <br />reviewed the following issues involved in redistricting <br />discussions: review of. past and projected school <br />enrollments; new housing, approved or requested; census 1989 <br />and 1992; special education enrollment; early childhood <br />education programs; future use and role of Jefferson School <br />Building'; and neighborhood schools. Mr. Dunbar stated that <br />the schools would like to have input from the Council <br />regarding the future use of the Jefferson School building. <br /> <br /> Mr. Rauzelle Smith, Chairman of the School Board, <br />explained that the School Board has historically attempted to <br />deal with population changes at each school rather than <br />changing boundaries. <br /> <br /> <br />
