Abstaining: Ms. <br />Daugherty. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CONSOLIDATING SOCIAL SERVICES AND COMMUNITY ATTENTION <br />ADVISORY BOARDS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that staff have recommended that the <br /> Social Services and Community Attention Advisory Boards be <br /> merged into one board since the Community Attention programs <br /> are part of the Department of Social Services. <br /> <br /> Mr. Clyde Gouldman, City Attorney, reviewed minor <br />amendments to the ordinance recommended by Mr. Robert Cox, <br />Director of Social Services. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, <br />the ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SECTIONS <br />25-106 THROUGH 25-111, AND AMENDING SECTION 25-1 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />CONSOLIDATING THE SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY BOARD AND THE <br />COMMUNITY ATTENTION ADVISORY BOARD" was offered and carried <br />over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: SUBDIVISION UTILITY FEES <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the ordinance change would <br />bring the subdivision ordinance in line with changes <br />previously made by Council utility line construction and <br />cost. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Daugherty, seconded by Rev. Edwards, <br />the ordinance'entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REORDAINING <br />SECTIONS 29-38 AND 29-87 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, RELATED TO INSTALLATION <br />COSTS OF WATER AND SEWER LINE EXTENSIONS IN SUBDIVISIONS" was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: GRANTING EASEMENT TO VIRGINIA POWER ON RIDGE STREET <br />NEAR FIRE STATION <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the easement was necessary as <br />a result of construction of the Ridge.Street bridge and noted <br />that the utilities would be placed underground. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, the <br /> ordinance granting an easement to Virginia Power on Ridge <br /> Street near the Fire Station was offered and carried over to <br /> the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: TRANSFER OF PROPERTY IN PEN PARK TO CITY <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that when property was bought for <br />Pen Park,. Mrs. Wayland was given a life estate to her <br />property on the condition that when She moved the property <br />would transfer to the City. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by, Rev. Edwards, the <br />ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE ACCEPTANCE <br />OF A DEED OF GIFT FROM ESTER WAYLAND TO THE CITY FOR A PARCEL <br />ON PEN PARK ROAD" was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br /> <br />
