APPROPRIATION: $12,597 - Win-Win Communications Grant (carried over) BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $12,597, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, is hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-020-062097 in the Grants Fund to establish a nine-month program (from January 1997 through September 1997) aimed at improving communication between youth and families and the systems which serve them. The grant requires a local match of $7,388.00, which will be achieved by the following in-kind services: Source Service Amount Albemarle County Brochures $ 3,360 City of Ch'ville Youth Issues Cable TV Program $ 2,500 Jefferson-Madison Regional Library Television Production $1,528 $ 7,388 This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $12,597 from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services under Grant Number 97-A9444TV95. d. RESOLUTION: Endorsing ISTEA Funds for Airport Road WHEREAS, pursuant to the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) certain federal funds are available pursuant to the Virginia Department of Transportation for transportation enhancement projects; and WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Authority and the County of Albemarle plan to submit an application to the Virginia Department of Transportation seeking ISTEA funds for a project to construct improvements to a portion (0.8 mile) of State Route 649 (Airport Road) in Albemarle County, which project includes landscaping, bicycle lanes, and sidewalks; and WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has endorsed the project by resolution dated January 7, 1997, as being in accordance with its Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP); and WHEREAS, the project appears meritorious and of benefit to the community served by the MPO in that the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport is an essential intermodal link for the Charlottesville-Albemarle region and plays a critical role in the advancement and promotion of tourism in this region;
