APPROPRIATION: $12,345 - Adult Companion Services Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the <br />sum of $12,345.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Social Services <br />and the Jefferson Area Board for Aging, is hereby appropriated to account code <br />12-161-062269-54108 and shall be used to provide companion services for elderly and <br />disabled adults~ This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $9,876 from the Virginia <br />Department of Social Services, and $2,469 from the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. <br /> <br />d. APPROPRIATION: $45,292 - Day Care Subsidy Grant (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that the sum <br />of $45,292.00, to be received as a grant from the Virginia Department of Social Services, is <br />hereby appropriated to account code 12-161-062271-54108 and shall be used to provide <br />child day care subsidy payments to income-eligible individuals working in education and/or <br />training programs. This appropriation is conditioned upon receipt of $45,292 from the <br />Virginia Department of Social Services, and any funds remaining at June 30, 1997 shall be <br />carried over to Fiscal year 1997-98 to be used for the same purpose. <br /> <br />e. APPROPRIATION: $50,910.20 - Summer Nutrition Program (carded over) <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $6,000 - Donation by Estate of Anne Marvin (carded over) <br /> <br />g. RESOLUTION: Proclaiming Business Appreciation Week <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville, Virginia officially recognizes the important <br />contributions business and industry have brought to the community and the regional <br />economy; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these companies are a significant provider of jobs to our citizens and tax <br />revenues needed for essential services; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the business community has donated significant volunteer time and <br />charitable contributions for the benefit of all residents. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, I, Katherine E Slaughter, Mayor of the City of Charlottesville, <br />on behalf of the City- Council of the City of Charlottesville, do hereby proclaim the week of <br />May 18 - 24, 1997 as BUSINESS APPRECIATION WEEK, and extend sincere appreciation <br />for our many exemplary corporate citizens who strive to build a better community and work <br />to ensure the economic growth and stability of the City of Charlottesville. <br /> <br />h.
