112 <br /> <br />Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in public session and, on motion by <br />Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Vandever, unanimously certified <br />that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public <br />business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the executive <br />meeting to which this certification resolution applies, .and <br />(ii) only such public ~business matters as were identified in <br />the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, <br />discussed or considered by the Council. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS: BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Vandever, <br />the following persons were appointed to the Community. <br />Development Block Grant Task Force: Ms. Claressia Bell, Ms. <br />Patricia B. Edwards, Mr. James R. Wood, and Mr. John Pezzoli. <br /> <br /> On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Mr. Toscano, Mr. <br />Lucian Carter and Mr. Lester Frye were unanimously appointed <br />to the Fifeville Neighborhood Task Force. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Mr. Vandever, Mr. <br />Jacque Rappaport and Ms. Joy Johnson were unanimously <br />reappointed, and Mr. John Howland and Mr. Bernard Leipelt <br />were appointed to the Social Services Advisory Board. <br /> <br />~in~adjourned. <br />President <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Wednesday, <br />December 19, 1990 AT 12:00 noon IN THE Charlottesville High <br />School Home Economics Conference Room. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Luncheon meeting with the School Board <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR <br /> <br />BY Jeanne CoX (signed) <br /> <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL - December 19, 1990 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Rev. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr, <br />Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> Dr. Joseph McGeehan, Superintendent of Schools, gave an <br />introduction about the various Charlottesville High School <br />leadership experiences. ~ <br /> <br /> A discussion was held about the Mayor's Yout'h Day <br />scheduled for April 15th when senior government students <br />will shadow City officials and employees and participate in <br />a mock Council election and meeting. <br /> <br /> Students representing the following organizations gave <br />brief presentations: Future Business Leaders of America, <br />Forensic Team, National Honor Society, Student Council <br />Association, Virginia Power Minority Scholarship Program, <br />Class Presidents, Band, Girl's and Boy's State, Students <br />Against Drunk Driving, Key Club, and Summer Economics. <br /> <br /> A discussion of the budget was deferred until the <br />January School Board/Council meeting. <br /> <br />pr~jOurned' <br /> <br /> <br />
