Economic Development Promotion <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that he felt the recommendation <br />was too vague. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe suggested including tourism under the <br />economic development recommendation. <br /> <br />34. Downtown <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix suggested rewriting the recommendation <br />regarding downtown and combining it with priority 35. <br /> <br />35. West Main Street <br /> <br />36. Technical Employment Training <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix listed the following areas that he felt <br />should be included in the Comprehensive Plan: tourism, <br />specific issues of the handicapped, parking garage, school <br />construction, park improvements, City Hall renovations, and <br />the CSX property. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters recommended including City and Albemarle <br />County coordination. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe suggested including proration of personal <br />property tax. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix noted that ongoing priorities of the City <br />are not included in the Plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix recommended that staff revise the Plan and <br />Council hold another work session on the new version. <br /> <br /> Mr. Vandever recommended that Council further discuss <br />the goals of the City government. <br /> <br /> Council rescheduled the work session on the Capital <br />Improvement Plan to June 15th. <br /> <br />~pr "~de~t· T~e etna dj~. ~ ourne d.
