Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: SHORT-TERMRENTAL TAXATION (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO.AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTIONS 15-1, 15-20.1, 15-112 AND 15-114 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO SHORT-TERM RENTAL TAXATION," which was offered at <br />the October 2nd meeting, was approved by the following vote. <br />Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. <br />Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: TAXATION OF DAILY RENTAL PROPERTY (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 10-18.1 OF CHAPTER-10, AND TO ADD ARTICLE <br />XVI TO CHAPTER 10, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESUILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, FOR TAXATION OF DAILY <br />RENTAL PROPERTY," which was offered at the October 2nd <br />meeting, was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. <br />Buck, Rev. E!dwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE:-~ RESTRICTING TRUCKS ON PARK STREET (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that staff did not recommend <br /> restricting trucks on Park Street as they did not feel a <br /> problem existed there. <br /> <br /> Referring to a letter sent to Council from the North <br />Downtown Residents AsSociation, Mr. Buck stated that if the <br />neighborhood did not support the restriction then Council <br />should not-approve the ordinance.~ · <br /> <br /> The ordinance restricting trucks on Park Street was <br /> denied by the following vote. Ayes:~ None, Noes: Mr. Buck, <br /> Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr.' Vandever,~Ms, Waters. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the School Board has <br /> requested that Council authorize that the $32,000 <br /> remaining in the Clark School renovation account be <br /> transferred in order to replace the wall in the Johnson <br /> School gymnasium'. Mr. Hendrix stated that the money has <br /> already been appropriated ~o the Schools and therefore only <br /> the authorization to use the funds for a different purpose <br /> was necessary. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr.. Vandever, the <br />Schools were unanimously authorized to use the $32,000 to <br />replace the gym wall at Johnson School. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, seconded by Mr. Vandever, Council <br />unanimously voted to meet'in executive session for the <br />purpose of considering the acquisition or use of real <br />property for public purpose (purchase of property located in <br />or near downtown area)as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(3) <br />of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by <br />Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, unanimously certified <br />that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public <br />business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the executive <br />meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and <br />(ii) only such public business matters as were identified in <br />the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, <br />discussed Or considered by the Council. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br />Presi~_~t ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
