230 <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the United States Federal Emergency Management <br />Administration (FEMA) has notified the City of a grant in the <br />amount of $5,500 awarded under the Emergency Food and Shelter <br />program~ now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia' that $5,500 is hereby appropriated <br />to Social Services Fund expenditure account 12-161-062292 for <br />use by the Social Services Department for payment of rent and <br />utility bills for eligible recipients. Such appropriation <br />shall be conditioned upon receipt of $5,500 from FEMA's <br />Emergency Food and Shelter Program. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,987.52 - GRANT FOR RADAR EQUIPMENT FOR POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $1~987.52 appropriation for the grant for radar <br />equipment for the Police Department which was offered at the <br />March 19th meeting was approved by the following vote, Ayes: <br />Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever,~ Ms, Waters. <br />Noes: None. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia,' that the sum of $1,987.52 is <br />hereby appropriated to expenditure account 11-270-041133 in <br />the Grants Fund for the purchase of radar equipment by the <br />Charlottesville Police Department. Of this amount, $487.52 <br />is to be taken from General Fund account 05-270-041030-55104. <br />This appropriation is subject to receipt of $1,500.00 in <br />revenue as a Highway Safety Mini-Grant from the Virginia <br />Department of Motor Vehicles. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $7,197 - THOMAS JEFFERSON PLANNING DISTRICT <br />COMMISSION LEGISLATIVE LIAISON <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that Council previously <br />approved funding for the Legislative Liaison but at the <br />time the City's share was unknown. Mr. Hendrix stated that <br />Nelson County had chosen not to participate in the program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$7,197 appropriation for the Thomas Jefferson Planning <br />District Commission Legislative Liaison was offered and <br />carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $6,749.50 - $1 FOR LIFE FUNDS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the $1 for Life funds were <br />recommended to be split between the Fire Department and <br />Thomas Jefferson Emergency Medical Services Council. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />'$6,749.50 appropriation of the $1 for Life Funds was offered <br /> and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $7,576.12 - DONATION FOR SCOREBOARD <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the donation would be used for a <br />scoreboard for McIntire Park. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />$7,576.12 donation for the scoreboard was offered and carried <br />over to the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Towe recommended that the scoreboard be used for the <br />fast pitch ballfield since these players raised most of the <br />money. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: HIGHWAY PROJECT PRIORITIES <br /> <br />Mr, Hendrix recommended that Council approve a list of <br /> <br /> <br />
