Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: CORRECTING DESCRIPTION OF VOTING PRECINCT BOUNDARY IN <br />CODE (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND <br />REORDAIN SECTION 8-1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, TO CORRECT THE METES AND <br />BOUNDS DESCRIPTION OF THE SECOND WARD OF VOTING PRECINCTS," <br />which was offered at the~April 2nd meeting, was approved by <br />the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Rev. Edwards, Mr. Towe, <br />Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. Noes: None. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: GRANTING EASEMENT ON CLYDE STREET <br /> <br /> Mr. Gouldman stated that the matter of closing a portion <br />of Clyde Street will come before Council in May and this <br />ordinance would grant a utility easement prior to the street <br />closing. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />ordinance granting an easement on Clyde Street was offered <br />and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE: AMENDING REAL ESTATE TAX AND RENT RELIEF PROGRAM FOR <br />ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED <br /> <br /> Mr. O'Connell stated that this ordinance would implement <br /> the amended Real Estate Tax and Rent Relief Program for the <br /> Elderly and Handicapped as approved in the budget and will go <br /> into effect January 1, 1991. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Mr. Towe, Mr. O'Connell <br /> stated that it is estimated that approximately 50 additional <br /> persons will be assisted in the program. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Towe, seconded by Mr. Vandever, the <br />ordinance entitled 'JAN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND REORDAINING <br />SECTIONS 10-36, 10-37, 10-30 AND 10-40 OF ARTICLE IV OF <br />CHAPTER 10, AND SECTIONS 30-11 AND 30-13 OF ARTICLE II OF <br />CHAPTER 30, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, INCREASING REAL ESTATE TAX AND RENT RELIEF FOR <br />THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED" was offered and carried over to the <br />next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />PUBLIC <br /> <br />There were no matters by the public. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Towe, Council <br />unanimously voted to meet ~in executive session for the <br />purpose of appointing members to various city boards or <br />agencies, as authorized by Section 2.1-344(A)(1) of the <br />Virginia. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by <br />Rev. Edwards, seconded by Ms. Waters, unanimously voted to <br />certify that, to the best of each member"s knowledge, (i) <br />only public business matters lawfully exempted from open <br />meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the <br />executive meeting to which this certification resolution <br />applies, and (ii) only such public business matters as were <br />identified in the motion convening the executive meeting were <br />heard, discussed or considered by the Council. <br /> <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br />pre~dent <br /> <br /> <br />
