266 <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Buck, the minutes of the May 9th <br />meeting were approved as presented, with Mr. Towe and Mr. <br />Vandever abstaining. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $15,846 - UNEXPENDED JAUNT FUNDS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> The $15,846 appropriation of unexpended funds from <br />Jefferson Area United Transportation (JAUNT) which was <br />offered at the May 7th meeting was approved by the following <br />vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever. Noes: None. <br />Absent: Rev. Edwards and Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charl0ttsville, Virginia, that the sum of $15,846, received <br />as revenue from the Jefferson Area United Transportation <br />.(JAUNT), is hereby appropriated to account code <br />05-301-053011. Such revenue represents funds which were <br />allocated by the City to JAUNT for its fiscal year 1988-89 <br />but remained unspect as of September 30, 1989. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $16,680 - DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS (2nd reading) <br /> <br /> Mr. Buck questioned whether it would be possible to use <br />the drug seizure assets to fund an expanded Community Service <br />Officer (CSO) program. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix replied that he would check to see if the <br />funds have already been committed. <br /> <br /> The $16,680 appropriation of drug seizure assets which <br />was offered at the May 7th meeting was approved by the <br />following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever. <br />Noes: None. Absent: Rev. Edwards and Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of <br />Charlottesville has received funds totalling $16,680.00, <br />represent money obtained from the sale of assets lawfully <br />seized by the City Police Department from persons <br />subsequently convicted of drug related crimes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said funds have been deposited with the <br />Treasurer of the City) and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the federal policies authorize the City Police <br />Department to receive and spend such proceeds provided the <br />expenditure is on drug related law enforcement matters; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that such $16,680.00 shall be <br />appropriated to police investigation expenditure account <br />05-270-041110-51110. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: $174,312 - FY 89-90 CDBG FUNDS FOR FIFEVILLE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that CDBG funds have previously been <br /> earmarked for physical improvements in Fifeville and the <br /> appropriation would allocate the funds to specific projects. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Buck, the <br />$174,312 appropriation of FY 89-90 CDBG funds for Fifeville <br />neighborhood were offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: REPROGRAMMING CDBG FUNDS <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the appropriation would fund <br />social programs previously approved for Fifeville. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Buck, the <br />reprogramming of CDBG funds was offered and carried over to <br />the next meeting for consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
