266 On motion by Mr. Buck, the minutes of the May 9th meeting were approved as presented, with Mr. Towe and Mr. Vandever abstaining. APPROPRIATION: $15,846 - UNEXPENDED JAUNT FUNDS (2nd reading) The $15,846 appropriation of unexpended funds from Jefferson Area United Transportation (JAUNT) which was offered at the May 7th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever. Noes: None. Absent: Rev. Edwards and Ms. Waters. BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charl0ttsville, Virginia, that the sum of $15,846, received as revenue from the Jefferson Area United Transportation .(JAUNT), is hereby appropriated to account code 05-301-053011. Such revenue represents funds which were allocated by the City to JAUNT for its fiscal year 1988-89 but remained unspect as of September 30, 1989. APPROPRIATION: $16,680 - DRUG SEIZURE ASSETS (2nd reading) Mr. Buck questioned whether it would be possible to use the drug seizure assets to fund an expanded Community Service Officer (CSO) program. Mr. Hendrix replied that he would check to see if the funds have already been committed. The $16,680 appropriation of drug seizure assets which was offered at the May 7th meeting was approved by the following vote. Ayes: Mr. Buck, Mr. Towe, Mr. Vandever. Noes: None. Absent: Rev. Edwards and Ms. Waters. WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Charlottesville has received funds totalling $16,680.00, represent money obtained from the sale of assets lawfully seized by the City Police Department from persons subsequently convicted of drug related crimes; and WHEREAS, said funds have been deposited with the Treasurer of the City) and WHEREAS, the federal policies authorize the City Police Department to receive and spend such proceeds provided the expenditure is on drug related law enforcement matters; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that such $16,680.00 shall be appropriated to police investigation expenditure account 05-270-041110-51110. APPROPRIATION: $174,312 - FY 89-90 CDBG FUNDS FOR FIFEVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD Mr. Hendrix stated that CDBG funds have previously been earmarked for physical improvements in Fifeville and the appropriation would allocate the funds to specific projects. On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Buck, the $174,312 appropriation of FY 89-90 CDBG funds for Fifeville neighborhood were offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration. APPROPRIATION: REPROGRAMMING CDBG FUNDS Mr. Hendrix explained that the appropriation would fund social programs previously approved for Fifeville. On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Mr. Buck, the reprogramming of CDBG funds was offered and carried over to the next meeting for consideration.
