Noes: Ms. Waters. <br /> <br /> BE IT RESLOVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the sum of $42,300 is hereby <br />appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General <br />Fund to expenditure account 05-270-041030 to fund two <br />Community Service Officer positions for the fiscal year- <br />ending June 30, 1991. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters stated that she did ~not support the appropriation <br />because it was made out of the budget cycle. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: FY 90-91 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix explained that the proposed FY 90-91 CDBG <br />Program had been approved by HUD and this was the formal <br />appropriation. <br /> <br /> On motion by'Mr. Vandever, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />appropriation for the FY 90-91 Community Development Block <br />Grant Program was offered and carried over to the next <br />meeting for consideration. <br /> <br />APPROPRIATION: <br /> <br />REPROGRAMMING <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br /> Mr. Hendrix stated that the reappropriations were based <br />on decisions previously made by Council during the budget <br />process and approved by HUD. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Rev. Edwards, the <br />Community Development Block Grant Program reprogramming was <br />offered and carried over to the next meeting for <br />consideration. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION: AMENDING SPECIAL PERMIT FOR 503 16TH STREET, N.W. <br /> <br /> Mr. Huja stated that the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the special permit for the following reasons: <br />1) It is in harmony with the Land Use Plan of the <br />Comprehensive Plan; 2) It will not have a significant adverse <br />impact on the surrounding area; and 3) The proposed addition <br />is compatible with the surrounding structure in scale and <br />material. <br /> <br /> Responding to a question from Ms. Waters, Mr. Huja <br />stated:that no additional parking space is required since the <br />bedroom space is not being changed. <br /> <br /> On motion by Rev. Edwards, seconded by Mr. Buck, the <br />resolution amending the special permit for 503 16th Street, <br />N.W. was unanimously approved by Council. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, A. L. Yancey, Trustee for the Le-Jud Land <br />Trust, owner of property located at 503 16th Street, N.W. has <br />requested an amendment to the special use permit granted on <br />April 21, 1986 which allowed use of the property as a <br />sorority,~ to permit an addition to the ~existing building. <br />This property is further identified on City Real Property Tax <br />Map #5 as parcel 71, having approximately 104 feet of <br />frontage on 16th Street, N.W., 75 feet of frontage on Gordon <br />Avenue, and containing approximately 7,833 square feet of <br />land, or ~t8 acres~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, following a joint public hearing before this <br />Council and the Planning Coommission, duly advertised-and <br />held on June 12, 1990, this Council finds that such use will <br />conform to the criteria applicable to special permits <br />generally under Chapter 31 of the City Code; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia that the special use permit granted <br /> <br /> <br />
