On mOtion by Mr. vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, Mr. Bruce Williamson was unanimoUsly'reappointed to a two year term on the Community Corrections ResoUrceS Board. This term will expire on December 31, 1992. On motion by Mr. Vandever, Mr. David Carter was unanimously reappointed, and Ms. Mary Williams unanimously appointed to two year terms on the Jefferson Area Board for Aging. These terms will expire on April 1, 1993. On motion by Mr. Toscano, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Steven Freidman was unanimously appointed to an unexpired term and Ms. Mary Susan Payne was unanimously appointed to a three year term on the Region Ten Community Services Board. Mr. Freidman's term will expire on June 30, 1992 and Ms. Payne's term will expire on June 30, 1994. On motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Vandever, Mr. Neal Gropen was unanimously appointed to a one year term on the Rivanna Solid Waste Advisory Committee. This term will expire on November 30, 1991. REQUEST: JAYCEES - WAIVING FEES FOR CIRCUS Mr. Tom Killor, representing the Charlottesville Albemarle Jaycees, requested that Council waive fees for the circus to be held on April 29th and 30th. On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, Council unanimously approved the resolution waiving fees for the Jaycees' circus. - WHEREAS, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Jaycees intend to sponsor a circus in the City of CharlottesVille from April 29-30, 1991~ and WHEREAS, it has been requested that Council waive certain license tax and other requirements applicable to the circus; and WHEREAS, City Council is willing to support this request to the extent set forth below; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that the following fees and requirements are waived: The circus performance'fees of $150 for the first performance and $100 for each subsequent performance ordinarily imposed by City Code Section 14-55(5). The $10 tent erection fee imposed by City Code Section 5-57~ 3. $50 per annum Peddlers License fee or tax imposed by City Code Section 14-49(d). BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following matters, to the extent applicable, are not waived: Inspections for amusement rides associated with the circus, if any, and any related fees. $50 per day deposit to cover the cost of additional city services, which fee may be refunded in part, imposed by City Code Section 3-2. The Jaycees shall furnish proper documentation to the City that adequate liability insurance is in place covering this event in an amount of at least $1,000,000, with the City being named as an additional insured.
