228 <br /> <br /> A work session on solid waste was set for June 18th at <br />7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A work session on housing issues was set for July 8th. <br /> <br /> It was agreed that the Meadowcreek Parkway and other <br />highway projects and the economic development strategy would <br />be discussed at a future regular Council meeting, not a work <br />session. <br /> <br /> Ms. Waters requested that the staff refine the housing <br />issues to be addressed prior to the work session. <br /> <br /> On motion by Mr. Vandever, seconded by Ms. Waters, <br />Council unanimously voted to meet in executive session to <br />discuss the acquisition or use of real property for public <br />purpose, or the disposition of publicly held property as <br />exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(3) of the Virginia Freedom of <br />Information Act, and more specifically as the Water Street <br />parking garage and property in the University area. <br /> <br /> Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. <br />Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, unanimously certified <br />that, to. the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public <br />business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the executive <br />meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and <br />(ii) only such public business matters as were identified in <br />the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, <br />discussed or-considered by the Council. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WILL BE HELD ON Tuesday, May <br />28, 1991 AT following Housing Authority meeting which begins <br />at 7:30 p.m. IN THE First Street Community Center. <br /> <br />THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Executive session to discuss acquisition or use of real <br />property for public purpose, or the disposition of <br />publicly held property as exempted by Section 2.1-344 <br />(a)(3) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act. <br /> <br />BY ORDER OF THE MAYOR BY Jeanne Cox (signed) <br /> <br /> FIRST STREET COMMUNITY CENTER - May 28, 1992 <br /> <br /> Council met in special session on this date with the <br />following members present: Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. <br />Waters.
