'Mr. Toscan° stated that the Task Force on Economic ConverSion was holding a public meeting on June 10th and recommended that someone from staff attend to present staff's position on the matter. Ms. Slaughter recommended discussing the matter in the context of the proposed economic development commission. Ms. Slaughter asked whether the Barringer House was on the list of historic properties to be considered by the Planning Commission August. Mr. Huja stated that the Barringer House is not currently on the list to be considered, but will be considered in the next cycle and the criteria adopted in the zoning ordinance will be used. Mr. Huja noted that the Barringer House is included on the National Historic Register. Th~ adjourned. Edwards, Ms. Slaughter, Mr. Toscano, Mr. Vandever, Ms. Waters. On motion by Ms. Waters, seconded by Ms. Slaughter, Council voted to meet in executive session to discuss personnel matters as exempted by Section 2.1-344(a)(1) of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, more specifically described as appointments to boards and commission and to conduct interviews for the_School Board~._with_Mr. Toscano and Mr. Vandever absent for the vote. Council reconvened in open session and, on motion by Ms. Slaughter, seconded by Mr. Toscano, unanimously certified that, to the best of each member's knowledge, (i) only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia law were discussed in the executive meeting to which this certification resolution applies, and (ii) only such public ~business matters as were identified in the motion convening the executive meeting were heard, discussed or considered by the Council.
