BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia that the sum of $15,000.00 is hereby appropriated from <br />the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Expenditure <br />Account 01-92390 for the continued operation by Jefferson Area <br />United Transportation, Inc., of transit services within the City of <br />Charlottesville between October 1, 1979 and January 1, 1980; and <br />be it further <br />RESOLVED that such services provided by Jefferson Area <br />United Transportation, Inc. within the City of Charlottesville shall <br />have as their first priority the provision of transportation to <br />those individuals and agencies who are unable to use the Charlottes- <br />ville Transit Service or existing taxi services; and be it further <br />RESOLVED that $12,000.00 of the sum hereby appropriated shall <br />be utilized by Jefferson Area United Transportation, Inc. as the <br />local matching share for its grant application for UMTA Section 18 <br />operating subsidies; and be it further <br />RESOLVED that such appropriation is further conditioned upon <br />• the agreement by Jefferson Area United Transportation, Inc. if and <br />when it receives such Section 18 funding, to repay to the City of <br />Charlottesville all amounts appropriated to it by the City since <br />June 1, 1979, with the exception of the aforesaid $12,000.00 local <br />matching share; and be it further <br />RESOLVED that such appropriation is also contingent upon <br />Jefferson Area United Transportation, Inc.'s agreement to encourage <br />its social services client riders within the City to utilize the <br />City transit system whenever that is feasible as an alternative <br />to riding the Jefferson Area United Transportation, Inc. vehicles. <br />Copy Teste: <br />Clerk of the Council <br />• <br />Adopted by the Council <br />November 19, 1979 <br />
