Attorneys Professional Liability 4,500 <br />Under negotiation <br />3. The balance of the funds so transferred shall be used to <br />increase the self insurance reserve in the Risk Management Fund, <br />to cover future uninsured losses or losses in excess of applicable <br />coverages. Expenditures shall be made from such fund to pay <br />claims and related expenses, in accordance with the procedures set <br />forth in Article XVIII of Chapter 2 of the City Code. <br />4. The City Council hereby expresses its intent to <br />self -insure against claims for bodily injury and property damage <br />liability, arising out of the operation of the City's motor <br />vehicle fleet, excluding school buses. The City Manager is <br />authorized to do all acts required by the Virginia Division of <br />Motor Vehicles to institute such self-insurance. <br />• 5. An emergency existing, the City Manager is authorized to <br />contract without competitive sealed bidding or competitive <br />negotation with GAB Business Services, Inc. for claims adjustment <br />services in connection with motor vehicle liability claims arising <br />on or after January 1, 1986, and to the extent such services are <br />not otherwise provided, for claims adjustment services required <br />under the insurance coverages listed in paragraph 2 of this <br />resolution. <br />0 <br />6. The City Manager and Acting Director of Finance are <br />authorized to make transfers from the Water, Sewer and Gas Funds, <br />the Social Services Fund, the Transit Fund, and other operating <br />funds or departmental expenditure accounts to reimburse the <br />General Fund for those funds' and departments' ratable portions of <br />the insurance and self-insurance costs being funded by this <br />appropriation. <br />Approved by Council <br />December 23, 1985 <br />rk of Council <br />85-4-62 <br />
