RESOLUTION <br />• African American Cultural Arts Festival Sponsorship <br />$8,955.03 <br />WHEREAS, the African American Cultural Arts Festival/Chihamba has <br />requested additional funds from City Council for the 2008 festival to be held on July 26, <br />2008 by waiving City related expenses; <br />WHEREAS, the African American Cultural Arts Festival/Chihamba has requested <br />that City Council waive the City fees charged for the 2007 festival; <br />WHEREAS, the additional funds will be paid from already appropriated funds in <br />the Council Reserve account (1011001000) and the festival contribution account <br />(9753005000) in the General Fund; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />Charlottesville, Virginia, that actual City costs relating to the 2008 African American <br />Cultural Arts Festival, which are currently estimated to be $5,227.00, are hereby <br />authorized to be paid from currently appropriated funds in the Council Reserve account <br />in the amount of $2,227.00 and the festival contribution account in the amount of $3,000 <br />in the General Fund; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City will waive the unpaid fees of <br />• $3,728.03 relating to the 2007 festival by reducing the budget in the Council Reserve <br />account in the General Fund. <br />Approved by Council <br />July 21, 2008 <br />
