AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 10-59.1 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO <br />LICENSES FOR VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville that <br />§10-59.1 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, <br />be amended and reordained as follows: <br />Section 10-59.1. Licenses for volunteer firefighters and <br />rescue squad members. <br />Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this article, every <br />member in good standing of the volunteer organizations known and designated <br />as the Charlottesville Fire Company and the Charlottesville -Albemarle Rescue <br />Squad, Inc. , and every member in good standing of an Albemarle County <br />volunteer fire company who resides within the corporate limits of the City of <br />Charlottesville, shall be entitled annually to license one passenger car or <br />pick-up truck of ten thousand pounds or less gross weight, without payment <br />• of the tax imposed by this article. On or before April 15th of each year the <br />officers of such organizations shall furnish to the city treasurer a list of the <br />members currently in good standing with such organizations and the treasurer <br />shall issue to each such member a special license tag or decal which such <br />member shall display on such vehicle as designated by the treasurer. Any <br />person having been issued such special tag or decal who ceases to be a <br />member in good standing of such organizations shall immediately surrender <br />such special tag or decal to the treasurer and shall pay the appropriate <br />license tax on such vehicle for the balance of the license year. <br />Adopted by the Council <br />March 5, 1979 <br />Copy Teste: <br />�u <br />j <br />Clerk of the Council <br />• <br />
