• <br />• <br />• <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTIONS 31-159 AND 31-193 OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />TO INCLUDE STANDARDS FOR PARKING AND ACCESS FOR <br />HANDICAPPED PERSONS IN THE SITE PLAN REVIEW PROCESS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that Sections 31-159 and 31-193 of the Code of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, 1976, as amended, be amended and reordained as follows: <br />Section 31-159. Specifications for design of parking areas. <br />(d) The dimensions for each individual parking space shall <br />conform to the following requirements: <br />Type of space <br />1. Parallel <br />2. Handicapped <br />2: 3. All others <br />Minimum Width <br />9 feet <br />12 feet <br />9 feet <br />Minimum Length <br />20 feet <br />19 feet <br />19 feet <br />The planning commission or director of planning may permit a <br />reduction of up to three feet in the paved length of spaces, <br />where such spaces are adjacent to a planting island or other <br />physical separation (but not a sidewalk) which permits the <br />over hanging of vehicles parked in such spaces. <br />Section 31-193. Site plan contents. <br />The site plan shall include the following: <br />(r) The proposed and required off-street parking and load- <br />ing areas; including parking and access for the handi- <br />capped as specified in the Virginia Uniform Statewide <br />Buildinq Code, as amended from time to time. <br />
