p <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN <br />SECTION 31-86, AS AMENDED, OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING TO USES PERMITTED WITH SPECIAL USE PERMIT IN <br />B-2 BUSINESS DISTRICTS <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that Section 31-86, as amended, of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, is amended and reordained as follows: <br />Section 31-86. Same - with special use permit. <br />The following uses may be permitted with a special use permit <br />in the B-2 District: <br />(a) Hotels or motels with restaurants. <br />(b) Hospitals. <br />(c) Radio, television, telephone, telegraph and electricity <br />go transmission towers and stations and similar facilities. <br />(d) Animal hospitals. <br />(e) Public utility facilities. <br />(f) Drive-in restaurants. <br />(g) Florists, including greenhouses; provided, that no <br />commercial greenhouse heating plant shall be operated <br />within one hundred feet of any lot line. <br />(h) Retail stores of more than three thousand but less than <br />six fifteen thousand square feet gross floor area; <br />provided, that the retail sales area shall not exceed <br />twelve thousand five hundred square feet; and provide <br />that the proposed use is compatible with the scale of <br />any surrounding residential neighborhood, does not <br />have significant adverse environmental impact on the <br />neighborhood and is in harmony with the purpose and <br />intent of this article. <br />Adopted by Council <br />January 19, 1981 <br />Copy teste: <br />Clerk of Counci <br />
