0 <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN §§12-3, 12-4, 12-6, 24-1, <br />24-2, 29-1 AND 29-2 AS SEVERALLY AMENDED, OF THE <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />RELATING GENERALLY TO RATES, FEES AND CHARGES FOR <br />CITY GAS, SEWER AND WATER SERVICES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville: <br />1. That §§12-3, 12-4, 12-6, 24-1, 24-2, 29-1 and 29-2, as <br />severally amended, of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, <br />are amended and reordained, as follows: <br />Section 12-3. Rates - Generally. <br />The gas rates based on monthly meter readings shall be as <br />follows: <br />First <br />500 <br />cubic <br />feet or fraction thereof <br />$3.25- <br />Next <br />2500 <br />cubic <br />feet, per 1,000 cubic feet <br />4.84 <br />• Next <br />3000 <br />cubic <br />feet, per 1,000 cubic feet <br />473R <br />4.45 <br />Next <br />144,000 <br />cubic <br />feet, per 1,000 cubic feet <br />3769 <br />3.80 <br />All over <br />150,000 <br />cubic feet, per 1,000 cubic feet <br />3756 <br />3.67 <br />Rates outside the city for gas sold to customers living outside <br />the limits of the city shall be greater by ten percent than the rates <br />specified above. <br />Section 12-4. Same - Summer air conditioning. <br />Gas service under the following rate shall be available to <br />customers who request such service in writing and who have installed <br />and use air conditioning equipment operated by natural gas as the <br />principal source of energy. The air conditioning rate will be <br />available for bills rendered during the months of June through <br />October of each year, and shall be as follows: <br />(a) Residential. For the first four thousand cubic feet of <br />gas used per month, the charge shall be the sum as set forth under <br />section 12-3, and for all gas used in excess of four thousand cubic <br />feet per month, the rate shall be two dollars and seventy-five <br />eighty-three cents per one thousand cubic feet. <br />• (b) Other. All gas used for summer air conditioning shall <br />be separately metered and billed at the rate of two dollars and <br />seventy-five eighty-three cents per one thousand cubic feet. All <br />
