0 <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO REPEAL SECTION 25-26. <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AND TO ENACT A SECTION NUMBERED 25-26.1 <br />RELATING TO BARBED-WIRE FENCES <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville <br />that Section 25-26 of the Code of the City of Charlottesville, <br />1976, is repealed and a new section numbered 25-26.1 is enacted <br />as follows: <br />Section 25-26.1. Barbed-wire fences. <br />No person shall erect or maintain a barbed-wire fence <br />on any property in the city. Notwithstanding the foregoing, <br />on property used for commercial industrial or institutional_ <br />purposes barbed-wire may be installed along the top of any <br />• other type of fence at a height of six feet or more above <br />ground level The owner of any property on which is located <br />any barbed-wire in violation of this section shall remove such <br />fence within six months after being sent written notification <br />to do so by the City Manager or his designee.
