(a) Base unit costs. For the purpose of computations <br />herein, the costs and charges for determining the base unit <br />• costs of gas are (1) supplier tariffs, (2) contract quantities, <br />and (3) costs of substitute natural gas, in effect Map-31;-19gg <br />April 30, 1984 • such base unit costs are $3.91-32 4.9786 per thou- <br />sand cubic feet for firm gas service and $L76636 4.3604 per <br />thousand cubic feet for interruptible gas service. <br />(b) Periodic adjustment. In the event of any changes in <br />supplier tariffs, contract quantities or costs of scheduled <br />substitute natural gas, the unit costs shall be recomputed on <br />the basis of such change in accordance with procedures approved <br />by the city manager. The difference between the unit costs so <br />computed and the base unit costs shall represent the purchased <br />gas adjustment to be applied to all customer bills, including <br />minimum monthly charges but not including ornamental gas lights, <br />issued beginning the first billing month after each such change. <br />(c) Annual adjustment. For each twelve months ending <br />October 31, a comparison shall be made of the total incremental <br />cost of gas purchased by the city and the total incremental costs <br />of purchased gas recovered pursuant to this section from volumes <br />of gas billed to customers. In accordance with procedures <br />approved by the city manager, any difference between such total <br />• costs of purchased gas and costs recovered shall be expressed as <br />an annual purchased gas adjustment to be applied to all firm <br />service customer bills issued for the ensuing twelve month period <br />beginning December 1 of each year. <br />Section 24-2. Monthly service charges. <br />Any person having a connection directly or indirectly, to the <br />city sewer system shall pay therefor a monthly charge based upon <br />water consumption as follows: <br />(a) For the first three hundred cubic feet of water metered <br />or any fractional part thereof, the sewer charge shall be $2.25. <br />(b) For all water metered in excess of three hundred cubic <br />feet, the sewer charge shall be $979:� 9.33 for each one thousand <br />cubic feet or fractional part thereof. <br />(c) Any water customer not discharging the entire volume of <br />water used into the city's sanitary sewer system shall be allowed <br />a reduction in the charges imposed hereunder; provided, that such <br />person shall install, at his or her expense, a meter to record <br />either the water which will, or will not, ultimately reach the <br />11 <br />
