• (e) Annual Minimum Quantity. Interruptible rate customers
shall be obligated to take or pay for a minimum quantity of
1,200,000 cubic feet of gas annually. Each year as of June 30
the director of finance shall calculate the total consumption of
each interruptible customer for the preceding twelve monthly
billing periods, and shall bill any customer that has consumed
less than the minimum quantity for the deficient amount at the
rate of $5726 $4.72 per thousand cubic feet plus applicable
purchased gas adjustments. The minimum quantity shall not be
applicable to any customer who has begun receiving service at the
interruptible rate for the first time during the preceding twelve
months. If an interruptible customer terminates service the annual
minimum requirement shall be prorated on the basis of 100,000 cubic
feet per month for each month the customer has received service
since the last June 30 adjustment.
(f) Contract required. Before service is turned on under
this section, the customer shall agree in writing to abide by the
terms and conditions of this section.
Section 12-7. Purchased gas adjustment.
• In computing gas customer billings the basic rate charges
established under sections 12-3, 12-4 and 12-6 shall be adjusted
to reflect increases and decreases in the cost of gas supplied
to the city. Such increases or decreases shall be computed as
follows:
(a) Base unit costs. For the purpose of computations
herein, the costs and charges for determining the base unit
costs of gas are (1) supplier tariffs, (2) contract quantities,
and (3) costs of substitute natural gas, in effect Agri -387-}984
March 31, 1985, including commodity rates expected to go into
effect July 1, 1985, retroactive to April 1, 1985. Such base
unit costs are $479986 $4.3259 per thousand cubic feet for firm
gas service and $4-3684 $3.6923 per thousand cubic feet for
interruptible gas service.
(b) Periodic adjustment. In the event of any changes in
supplier tariffs, contract quantities or costs of scheduled
substitute natural gas, the unit costs shall be recomputed on
the basis of such change in accordance with procedures approved
by the city manager. The difference between the unit costs so
computed and the base unit costs shall represent the purchased
gas adjustment to be applied to all customer bills, including
• minimum monthly charges but not including ornamental gas lights,
issued beginning the first billing month after each such change.
