0 <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN PORTIONS OF CHAPTER 22 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, <br />AS AMENDED, BY REPEALING SECTION 22-1, <br />REGARDING THE SPEED OF TRAINS, <br />AND BY MAKING HOUSEKEEPING AMENDMENTS <br />TO SECTIONS 22-7 AND 22-8. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia: <br />1. That section 22-1 of the Code of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville, 1976, as amended, is hereby repealed. <br />2. That sections 22-7 and 22-8 of the Code of the City of <br />Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, are amended and reordained as <br />follows: <br />Section 22-7. Playing or trespassing upon tracks or platform. <br />• It shall be unlawful for any person to play about or upon <br />the railroad tracks or upon the platforms of any passenger depot <br />or about any railroad shops in the City. Any person violating this <br />section may be ordered to desist by any special or regular pelieeman <br />police officer, and upon his failure to do so, he may be arrested, <br />and if convicted, shall be punished as provided in section 1-10; . . . <br />Section 2Z-8. Obstructing passage on streets; standing <br />vehicle on track. <br />It shall be unlawful for any railroad company or any receiver; <br />or trustee operating a railroad to obstruct for a longer period of <br />time than five minutes the free passage on any street or road; by <br />standing cars or trains across the same, except a passenger train <br />while receiving or discharging passengers, but a passway shall be <br />kept open to allow normal flow of traffic; nor shall it be lawful . . . <br />Approved by Council <br />February 19, 1985 <br />LI/erk ot Council <br />85-7-9 <br />
