• <br />• <br />• <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF TWO PARCELS OF LAND ON PRESTON AVENUE, <br />IDENTIFIED ON CITY TAX MAP 31 AS PARCELS 1 AND 5, <br />TO CHARLES HANSEL WOOD, JR. AND VIRGINIA DILLARD WOOD, <br />AND SECURITY STORAGE AND VAN LINES, INC., <br />FOR $23,955.00, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR'S SIGNATURE <br />ON THE DEEDS OF CONVEYANCE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville no longer has any <br />use for two parcels of land which it owns, identified as <br />Parcels 1 and 5 on City Tax Map 31 (Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6); and <br />WHEREAS, Charles H. Wood, Jr. and Virginia Dillard Wood <br />have agreed to purchase the above described Lots 4, 5 and 6 <br />and Security Storage and Van Lines, Inc. has agreed to <br />purchase Lot 3; and <br />WHEREAS, all purchasers have agreed to certain land use <br />restrictive covenants deemed appropriate by the City; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- <br />ville that the sale of said unimproved lots, as is, to Charles <br />H. Wood, Jr. and Virginia D. Wood and Security Storage and <br />Van Lines, Inc. for the sum of $23,955.00 is hereby authorized, <br />and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute two general <br />warranty deeds prepared by the City Attorney's Office to close <br />the sale, copies of which deeds shall be attached to this <br />ordinance and kept with the minutes of this Council meeting. <br />Both deeds shall contain restrictions running with the land <br />that limit land use development to that which is allowed in the <br />City's existing B -2 Business District, except that setback <br />constraints shall be those applicable in the existing B -3 <br />business zone. The foregoing notwithstanding, the following <br />uses shall not be allowed in any event: <br />1) Retail stores. <br />2) Service stations. <br />3) Laundromats and self- service cleaning establishments. <br />4) Car washes. <br />5) Sign painting. <br />Approved by Council <br />December 21, 1987 <br />87 -7 -35 <br />
