• • • AN ORDINANCE TO AUTHORIZE THE SALE OF TWO PARCELS OF LAND ON PRESTON AVENUE, IDENTIFIED ON CITY TAX MAP 31 AS PARCELS 1 AND 5, TO CHARLES HANSEL WOOD, JR. AND VIRGINIA DILLARD WOOD, AND SECURITY STORAGE AND VAN LINES, INC., FOR $23,955.00, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR'S SIGNATURE ON THE DEEDS OF CONVEYANCE. WHEREAS, the City of Charlottesville no longer has any use for two parcels of land which it owns, identified as Parcels 1 and 5 on City Tax Map 31 (Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6); and WHEREAS, Charles H. Wood, Jr. and Virginia Dillard Wood have agreed to purchase the above described Lots 4, 5 and 6 and Security Storage and Van Lines, Inc. has agreed to purchase Lot 3; and WHEREAS, all purchasers have agreed to certain land use restrictive covenants deemed appropriate by the City; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottes- ville that the sale of said unimproved lots, as is, to Charles H. Wood, Jr. and Virginia D. Wood and Security Storage and Van Lines, Inc. for the sum of $23,955.00 is hereby authorized, and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute two general warranty deeds prepared by the City Attorney's Office to close the sale, copies of which deeds shall be attached to this ordinance and kept with the minutes of this Council meeting. Both deeds shall contain restrictions running with the land that limit land use development to that which is allowed in the City's existing B -2 Business District, except that setback constraints shall be those applicable in the existing B -3 business zone. The foregoing notwithstanding, the following uses shall not be allowed in any event: 1) Retail stores. 2) Service stations. 3) Laundromats and self- service cleaning establishments. 4) Car washes. 5) Sign painting.
