• (c) Any guaranty for work at a single location shall be <br />released by the city attorney one year after the date of <br />completion of the work in question, if the director of public <br />works certifies that the work has been completed and all <br />requirements of the article satisfied, and that the condition of <br />the work has not significantly deteriorated during the one year <br />since its completion. <br />(d) A bond shall not be required for work done by city <br />personnel under the supervision of the director of public works. <br />Section 25-31. Duty to prosecute work without delay. <br />It shall be the duty of every person to whom a permit €e <br />remove a pavement or street ser€ane or exeava€e In any street er <br />alley shall have been granted has been issued pursuant to this <br />article to institute at once and complete without delay the work <br />for which such permit was obtained and, promptly on its <br />completion, give written notice thereof to the director of <br />public works. <br />Section 25-32.1. Standards <br />The director of public works shall adopt and maintain for <br />inspection comprehensive pavement cutting, excavating, back- <br />filling, compacting and patching standards for all repair and <br />restoration work done in public ways. All work performed <br />pursuant to a permit issued under this article shall be in <br />compliance with all applicable standards. <br />Section 25-33. Lights and barriers; responsibilities for <br />damages caused by excavation. <br />Any person to whom a permit is granted under this article <br />shall place guards or barriers around such excavation and shall <br />protect it by warning lights at night, and shall be responsible <br />for damages to persons or property caused by such excavations. <br />Section 25-34.1. Notice and inspection; correction of <br />defects. <br />The director of public words shall be notified prior to the <br />time that the surfacing of the public way is replaced so that the <br />work done preparatory to such surfacing may be inspected. The <br />director of public works shall further be notified after the <br />surfacing has been completed in order that the surfacing may be <br />inspected. <br />If work done or being done pursuant to a permit issued under <br />this article has not been done or is not being done in accordance <br />• with the permit, or a public way is not left in satisfactory <br />3 <br />
