• Zone 6. That area bounded on the east by 5th Street, N.W., on the <br />north by the southern property line of the city maintenance yard, <br />on the west by 7-1/2 Street, N.W., on the south by Elsom Street, <br />the 100 block of 7th Street, N.W., and Commerce Street. <br />The streets designated as boundaries in the foregoing descriptions <br />of permit parking zones shall be considered to be portions of such <br />zones; provided, that no permit shall be required for parking on <br />any street or portion of a street within such zone unless and until <br />such street or portion thereof shall have been designated as a <br />restricted parking block pursuant to the regulations adopted under <br />section 16-57. <br />Sec. 16-56.3. Validation of Existing Permit Parking Zones and <br />Residential Parking Districts. <br />(a) All permit parking zones or portions <br />thereof listed in Section 16-56.2 have which had been in existence <br />for more than seven years as of August 1, 1988, and have proven to <br />be and are found by this council to be valid permit parking zones <br />which are appropriate and consistent with the purposes of this <br />ordinance. <br />(b) All of the blocks approved by the City Manager as <br />restricted parking blocks or permit parking areas prior to August <br />1, 1988, (with the exception of North 1st Street, which by court <br />• decision must be re -surveyed), have proven to be and are found by <br />this Council to be valid restricted parking blocks which are <br />appropriate and consistent with the purposes of this chapter. Such <br />blocks are and shall be delineated on the Official Residential <br />Permit Parking Map which shall be kept in the office of the traffic <br />engineer. <br />Approved by Council <br />July 17, 1989 <br />89-7-22 <br />0 2 <br />
