• AN ORDINANCE <br />TO AMEND AND REORDAIN SECTION 2-118 OF THE CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1976, AS AMENDED, <br />TO ADD AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AS A PRIORITY <br />IN CHOOSING RECIPIENTS OF CIDA FUNDING. <br />• <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that Section 2-118 of Article XVII of Chapter 2 of the <br />Code of the City of Charlottesville, 1976, as amended, is hereby <br />amended and reordained as follows: <br />XVII. INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. <br />Section 2-118. Same - Basis for financing certain projects. <br />In determining whether a particular facility or project should <br />be financed by the Authority, both the Authority and the City <br />Council shall give priority to those facilities which: <br />(a) Are proposed to be located within an area designated as <br />an urban renewal project by the Charlottesville Redevelopment and <br />Housing Authority, or <br />(b) Which are in harmony with and further the fulfillment of <br />the duly adopted comprehensive plan of the City or the Central <br />Business District master development plan as such plans may from <br />time to time be amended by City Council, or <br />(c) Are likely to produce the greatest increases in revenue <br />from property sales, license and other taxes to the City, or <br />(d) Which are most likely to produce expanded employment <br />opportunities for the citizens of the City and surrounding <br />jurisdictions; and which: <br />(e) Will be least likely to produce pollution or adverse <br />environmental consequences, and <br />(f) Are least likely to necessitate the expenditures of <br />additional public funds for the provision of essential or customary <br />public services. <br />Approved by Council <br />June 25, 1990 <br />1 rk of City Council <br />90-7-26 <br />
