. from that for which the license was issued, aper -tire- pey��errt v£ <br />the amount of difference in license fees between <br />the two vehicles shall be payable. <br />(c) Any person holding a current motor vehicle license plate, <br />tag or other indicia of license who disposes of the vehicle for <br />which it was issued and does not purchase another vehicle, or the <br />vehicle otherwise loses its situs in the city under this article. <br />may surrender the license plate, tag or other indicia of license, <br />and registration receipt to the city treasurer and request a refund <br />for the unused portion of the fee paid. <br />(d) The city treasurer shall refund to the applicant one-half <br />of the total cost of the license plate, tag or other indicia of <br />license if application for such refund is made prior to August July <br />1 of the current license year, but such refund shall only be one- <br />third of such total cost when the application is made subsequent <br />to August July 1 of the current license year, but prior to November <br />October 1 of the current license year. <br />(e) No refund shall be made when the application therefor is <br />made after November October 1 of the current license year. <br />(f) The taxes on licenses accruing under the provisions of <br />this article shall be due and payable, except where otherwise <br />• herein provided, on or before January 31 of each year and shall be <br />paid by the persons against whom assessed to the city treasurer in <br />his or her office on or before January 31. <br />(g) After August July 1, the taxes imposed by this article <br />shall be one-half of the original rates. <br />fhl If a motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer acquires situs <br />2.
