• AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING AND DISCONTINUING A PORTION OF FLORENCE ROAD WHEREAS, proper notice that Rives Land Trust would request the City Planning Commission to initiate street closing procedures to close the westernmost portion of Florence Road, was duly posted and advertised; WHEREAS, owners adjacent to that portion of the street proposed to be vacated have been duly notified; WHEREAS, a joint public hearing by the Planning Commission and City Council was held on July 9, 1991, and comments from the City staff, the Planning Commission and the public were made and heard; and BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that the above -referenced street right-of-way, described as follows, is hereby closed, vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, said street not being needed for public use and travel: • The westernmost portion of Florence Road, approximately 46 feet wide and running a distance of approximately 124 feet from its western terminus in an easterly direction. With reference to the plat prepared by Gary M. Whelan, Land Surveyor, dated August 2, 1989, recorded in the Clerk's Office, Circuit Court, City of Charlottesville, Virginia, in Deed Book 553, page 316, said westernmost portion of Florence Road is more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a pipe in the eastern line of T.M. 61 Par. 1.5 at the southwestern corner of T.M. 61 Par. 3 (now Parcel 2.3) and the westernmost terminus of the northern margin of Florence Road S76'3212311E for a distance of 92.01' to an iron; thence continuing along the northern margin of Florence Road 568'4511711E for a distance of 32.08' to an iron; thence across Florence Road SO8'0011211W for a distance of approximately 46' to the southern margin of Florence Road to a new point; thence along the southern margin of Florence Road N65°01'31"W for a distance of approximately • 34' to a point; thence continuing along the southern margin of Florence Road N76'3212311W for a distance of 90.00' to its westernmost terminus in the eastern line of T.M. 61 Par.
