• AN ORDINANCE <br />ALLOWING PERSONS 16 YEARS AND OLDER <br />TO PARTICIPATE IN FIREFIGHTING ACTIVITIES <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />Virginia, that any person who is sixteen (16) years of age or <br />older, after first obtaining his or her parent's or guardian's <br />approval in writing, is authorized to participate fully in <br />firefighting activities of the Charlottesville Fire Department, <br />subject to guidelines and restrictions by the Fire Department. <br />Such persons shall not be allowed to participate unless he or she <br />has attained certification as a Fire Fighter I through the Virginia <br />Department of Fire Programs. <br />The certification record and parental or guardian consent for <br />each participant shall be kept on file in the Charlottesville Fire <br />Department. <br />Approved by Council <br />March 1, 1993 <br />• <br />C e k of City Coun it <br />• <br />
