AN ORDINANCE <br />• AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 2-268 OF <br />ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO THE TERMS SERVED BY AIRPORT COMMISSIONERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, that Section 2- <br />268 of Article VII of Chapter 2 of the Charlottesville City Code, 1990, as amended, is hereby <br />amended and reordained as follows: <br />ARTICLE VII. JOINT CITY -COUNTY AIRPORT COMMISSION <br />Section 2-266. Definition. <br />As used in this article, the term "airport commission" or "commission" means the joint <br />airport commission established in section 2-267. <br />Section 2-267. Established; composition; appointment of members. <br />There is hereby established a Charlottesville -Albemarle Joint Airport Commission, to consist <br />of seven (7) members. The members shall be citizens of the city or of Albemarle County who hold <br />• no other municipal office, and shall be appointed by joint action of the city council and the board <br />of supervisors of Albemarle County. <br />Section 2-268. Compensation and terms of members. <br />All members of the airport commission shall serve without compensation. All members will <br />serve terms which expire on December first of the third year following their appointment. No <br />members will be reappointed who has served as a member for si� nine 9 consecutive years <br />immediately preceding such reappointment. <br />Section 2-269. Officers and staff, minutes of meetings. <br />As soon after their appointment as possible, the members of the airport commission shall <br />convene and elect a chairperson and vice -chairperson from their group for a term of one (1) year. <br />The airport manager or his designee shall serve as staff to the airport commission and shall perform <br />such duties as are appropriate, including the keeping of proper minutes of the meetings of the <br />commission. Anyone designated by the airport manager to perform duties for the airport <br />commission shall report to, and be subject to the supervision of, the airport manager in the <br />performance of such duties. <br />• <br />
