AN ORDINANCE <br />• AMENDING AND REORDAINING SECTION 2-37 <br />OF ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, RELATING <br />TO THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF <br />THE CHARLOTTESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that <br />Section 2-37 of Article II of Chapter 2 of the Charlottesville City Code, 1990, as <br />amended, is hereby amended and reordained as follows: <br />Sec. 2-37. Designation and appointment of board of commissioners of city <br />redevelopment and housing authority. <br />(a) Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the terms of all <br />commissioners ofthe Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority shall terminate <br />on '••� 1994 September 20. 1998; and thereafter commissioners shall be appointed in <br />accordance with the provisions of this section. <br />• (b) Effective September 21, 1998 there shall be five (5) commissioners of the <br />Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority appointed by city council. The board <br />of commissioners shall include the following members: <br />Three (3) city councilors: <br />(2) One private citizen; and <br />(.3) One resident of public housing, <br />(c) At their first meeting following the effective date of this section, the board of <br />commissioners shall elect one of their members to serve as chair of the board. <br />(d) This ordinance establishing the number and membership of the board of <br />commissioners and the appointments made pursuant to this section, shall become void and <br />of no effect on June 30, 1999, unless reenacted by City Council prior to that date. <br />0 <br />
