• temporarily assigns employees to support or supplement a client company's <br />workforce. <br />"Temporary help services contract" means a contract pursuant to which a staffing <br />firm provides temporary help services for a client company. <br />Section 14-16. Class I: Contractors and speculative builders. <br />(a)... <br />(b)... <br />(c)... <br />(d)... <br />(e) No business license shall be issued to any contractor who (i) has not obtained or is <br />not maintaining workers' compensation coverage for his employees and (ii) at the time of <br />application for the issuance or re -issuance of a business license is required to obtain or maintain <br />such coverage pursuant to Chapter 8 (§65.2-800 et seq.) of Title 65.2 of the Code of Virginia <br />(1950), as amended. At the time a contractor makes application for a business license he shall <br />provide written certification that he is in compliance with the provisions of Chapter 8 of Title <br />65.2 and that he will remain in compliance with such provisions at all times during the effective <br />period of any such business license. The contractor's signed certification will be forwarded to <br />the Virginia Worker's Compensation Commission. Any person who knowingly presents or <br />• causes to be presented to the city a false certificate shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor. <br />CHAPTER 30. TAXATION <br />ARTICLE II. Taxation of Tangible Personal Property, Machinery and Tools Generally. <br />Sec. 30-34. Tax date; situs. <br />(a)... <br />(b) Tangible personal property, and machinery and tools shall be taxable by the city in <br />any year if they are physically present within the corporate limits as of January first. or itrthe <br />ease The situs for purposes of assessment of motor vehicles, travel trailers, boats and aircraft <br />shall be the city, if they are normally garaged, parked or otherwise physically kept in the city as <br />of such date, or other appropriate situs date as provided under section 30-38; however, the situs <br />for vehicles with a weight of 10,000 pounds or less registered in Virginia but normallyarg aeed, <br />docked or parked in another state shall be the locality in Virginia where re istered. In the event <br />it cannot be determined where a motor vehicle, travel trailer, boat or aircraft is normally parked, <br />garaged or kept, the situs for taxation shall be the domicile of the owner. The provisions of <br />43vlirgittia, seetion 58.1 3511 shall apply to personal propefty of persotI3 domiciled in other <br />jurisdietions.
