• disability. commencing on the first day of the month coinciding with or next following his date <br />of retirement, in an amount computed as follows: <br />(1) One and sixty hundredths (1.60) percent of such member's average final <br />compensation multiplied by the total number of years of disability -credited <br />service. <br />(b) (c) As used in subsections (a) and (b) of this section with respect to any member who <br />retires for disability on or after age sixty (60), disability -credited service means such member's <br />creditable service. With respect to any member who retires for disability prior to age sixty (60), <br />disability -credited service means the smaller of paragraphs (1) and (2) following: <br />(1) Twice such member's years of creditable service; <br />(2) The number of years of creditable service such member would have completed at <br />age sixty (60), had he remained in service to such age. <br />(e) a Upon retirement for disability as provided in section 19-100(c), a member shall <br />receive an annual retirement allowance payable monthly to him during continued total disability, <br />commencing on the first day of the month coinciding with or next following his date of <br />retirement, in an amount which, when added to one-half of the social security disability benefit to <br />• which the member may become entitled under the federal Social Security Act in effect at his <br />disability retirement date, would equal two-thirds of his average final compensation, provided <br />such allowance shall not be less than the amount he would have received under subsections (a) <br />and b of this section had the length of service requirement of section 19-100(a) been waived <br />and had the member retired for disability thereunder. <br />(d) (e) Any allowance payable to a member under this section shall be reduced by the <br />amount of any weekly payments to which such member is entitled under section 65.2-500 of the <br />Virginia Workers' Compensation Act. That reduction shall not be affected by a compromise or <br />settlement of the workers' compensation claim. The excess of such allowance over such statutory <br />worker's compensation payments,'if any, shall be paid to such member. When the time for <br />payment of compensation under such act shall have elapsed, the member shall thereafter receive <br />the full amount of the allowance provided by this section monthly during continued total <br />disability. <br />Section 19-105. Survivor's allowance. <br />(a) Should a member die in service at any time before retirement and after either <br />becoming eligible for early service retirement under section 19-95(e), or completing at least <br />• Page 4 of 6 <br />
