Structures Harboring Illegal Drug Activity <br />Section 5-181. Definitions. <br />For the purpose of this division, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed below: <br />(a) Affidavit means the sworn legal document prepared by the city in accordance with section 5-182, <br />below. <br />(b) Chief of Police means the chief of police of the Charlottesville Police Department, and his designee(s). <br />(c) Controlled substance shall refer to substances referenced within section 54.1-3401 of the Code of <br />Virginia (1950), as amended, and for the purposes of this division the term shall also include marijuana. <br />(d) Corrective action means the taking of steps which are reasonably expected to be effective to abate a <br />drug blight on real property, such as removal, repair or securing of any building, wall or other structure. <br />(e) Director means the director of neighborhood development services, and his designee(s). <br />(f) Drug blight means a condition existing on real property which tends to endanger the public health or <br />• safety of residents of the city and is caused by the regular presence on the property of persons under the <br />17 <br />
