AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE -ORDAINING <br />• SECTION 29-81, ARTICLE II, DIVISION 3, CHAPTER 29 <br />OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CHARLOTTESVILLE, 1990, AS AMENDED, <br />RELATING TO UTILITIES AND DRAINAGE <br />C, <br />J <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Charlottesville, Virginia that Section <br />29-81, Article 11, Division 3, Chapter 29 of the Charlottesville City Code, 1990, as amended, is <br />hereby amended and re -ordained as follows: <br />Section 29-81. Drainage <br />(a) The storm water drainage system in any subdivision shall be separate and independent <br />of any sanitary sewer system. All necessary drainage facilities, including underground pipe, inlets, <br />catch basins or open ditches to provide for the adequate disposal of surface water and to maintain <br />any natural drainage course, shall be installed according to plans approved by the director of public <br />works or his designee. All pipe installed in connection with the construction of streets and sidewalks, <br />shall be reinforced concrete pipe and shall meet the standards of the state department of highways <br />and transportation. In some circumstances, the use of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe can <br />be substituted, subject to the approval of the City Engineer. <br />Approved by Council <br />April 15, 2002 <br />1 k of CityCouncil <br />
