(1) Monthly service charge: $1.25 <br />(2) Metered water consumption, per 1,000 cu. ft.: <br />Summer rate for bills issued June -October $24.77 <br />Winter rate for bills issued November -May $22.52 <br />Notwithstanding the foregoing upon the effective date for Phase 11 water restrictions, as defined <br />in City Code section 31-125 (a) the following water conservation rates shall be in effect: <br />(1) Monthly service charge: $1.25 <br />(2) Metered water consumption for the first 600 cu. ft. $14.86 <br />(3) Metered water consumption per 1,000 cu. ft. after the <br />first 600 cu ft $37.16 <br />(b) This section shall not apply to special contracts for the consumption of water which <br />have been authorized by the city council. The rates established in any such contracts <br />shall be increased by fifty percent (50%)upon the effective date for Phase 11 water <br />restrictions as defined in City Code section 31-125 (a). <br />(c) The water conservation rates and the increase in rates established in special contracts <br />shall be applied on the first water bills issued by the City of Charlottesville after the effective <br />date for section 31-125 Phase Il water restrictions and shall remain in effect until the first billing <br />following the last day when City Code section 31-125 Phase I1 water restrictions are in effect. <br />is Nothing contained in these amendments to sections 31-125 and 31-153 herein shall be construed <br />to affect limit or rescind any actions taken pursuant to section 31-125 prior to these <br />amendments The provisions of this Ordinance are intended to be severable, and the <br />enforceability of any provision in the Ordinance as determined by a court of competent <br />jurisdiction, shall not affect the enforceability of any other provision in the Ordinance. <br />This ordinance is an emergency ordinance that shall take effect immediately upon passage. The <br />water rates imposed pursuant to the amendments to section 31-153 shall be enforced for no more <br />sixty (60) days unless those rates are readopted in conformity with the applicable provisions of <br />the Virginia Code. <br />Approved by Council <br />September 16, 2002 <br />rk of City rouncil <br />
