• See. 31-161. Complaints against bills; testing meters. <br />(a) A complaint against a water or sewer bill shall not be accepted as a proper excuse for the <br />complainant not paying such bill when due, nor exempt the complainant from the imposition of <br />penalties for failure to pay the bill at the proper time. <br />(b) On request of the consumer, the city shall cause the water meter to be tested, and if the <br />meter is found inaccurate, exceeding two (2) percent, the meter shall be replaced at the expense <br />of the city. If the meter is found to be accurate within two (2) percent, the consumer shall pay <br />fifty dollars ($50.00) for this service. <br />2. The rates for water and sewer service as set forth in sections 31-153 and 31-156 <br />shall expire on June 30, 2004 unless reenacted or amended by City Council on or prior to <br />that date. <br />Approved by Council <br />December 15, 2003 <br />• rk of City Council <br />Page 8 of 8 <br />
