REPC< ,L T1W 0 'RJ� Eqr )FA <br />G102PP� * - P0� S ` <br />• � L S �'' Ih 1jj111 'I 8 <br />WHEREAS, the death of George Minor Coles on June 14, <br />1976, has shocked and saddened the members of this Council; and <br />WHEREAS, he had served the people of his City and <br />State faithfully for many years as Judge of the Corporation <br />Court, and later the Circuit Court, of the City of Charlottesville; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Judge Coles was a highly respected jurist, <br />whose patient but firm administration of justice was of great <br />benefit to this community; and <br />WHEREAS, his infallible courtesy, his unquestioned <br />integrity, and his innate good humor were qualities which will <br />be sorely missed by his friends and associates; now,therefore, <br />be it <br />RESOLVED BY THE Council of the City of Charlottesville, <br />that the members of this Council express their sorrow upon the <br />death of George Minor Coles, and extend their sincere sympathy <br />and that of the people of this City, to his widow and family; <br />and be it further <br />• RESOLVED, that the Clerk be directed to send a copy of <br />this resolution to Mrs. Coles as a token of the esteem in which <br />her husband was held by this body. <br />• <br />
